Part of my downtime with the bars, I am going to clean and Dielectric Grease all the fuses and relays in the side box. I have been told that is what we all should do.

I just had to know so I pulled one of the fuses out of my fuse box and you can see the difference between a new and one that’s probably been in there since the bike was new in 2009. In the second picture I cleaned off one side of the fuse legwith my fingernail and it’s obvious that there is stuff that builds up from condensation in the air. I don’t know the complete history of my bike but I got it with 12,000 miles on it so it could have been ridden in the rain or parked outside or both.

Thank you to the members here the suggested I remove my fuses clean them m, and put dielectric grease on them before reinstalling them.
