Thought I’d post this for the 2 Bruces ( horosho and raven) and any other flat track fans. Since I’m in Florida anyway, thought I’d try to catch some short track action. Usually Bike Week coincides with March break, so I have visitors, but not this year. Found accommodation for 3 nights ( Tuesday Wednesday Thursday) and got a ticket for the Thursday race, the first night of a double header. A 1/4 track so lots of elbow and bar banging. Exciting action and interesting results. 3 marques on the podium, Yamaha, Indian and KTM. Dallas Daniels, a rookie last season is definitely an up and comer. Very smooth and a treat to watch. He won again on Saturday (Friday was postponed to Saturday) and that podium had 2 Indian FTR750s in 2nd and 3rd. So Friday was Daniels, Brandon Robinson, Briar Bauman. Saturday was Daniels, Jarod Vanderkool, and Davis Fisher. I had a pit pass so wandered around before the racing. #1 plate, Jared Mees didn’t do well, but his FTR is a work of art.

That’s too bad…I could only find accommodation for 3nights and when I was leaving Daytona, it was nice and sunny Friday morning…at least they got to run the 200 on Sunday and apparently that was a wild affair with some extra laps added on….Josh Herrin won, and I remember him about 20 years ago at Loudon, NH, ( he was probably 15 or 16 ), I was standing next to his pits and before he pulled on his helmet, his mother came over and put her hand on his cheek….such a motherly thing to do! He, being a teenager, ignored her……I never forgot that gesture……
If you’re in Jacksonville you are pretty close to the track at Jennings, FL, which looks like a nice facility….track days, schools, etc. I only found out about it because the Canadian Superbike guys are doing some testing there now…if I was closer, I’d be there….

Love the quote William James - Wow - Jennings is about the same distance as Daytona - Thank You - I do not have the gear for track days - Would love to watch some racing though - Hit me up if your up this way
