XRs with moto/dirt bike Front Fenders

Working on a bit of an enduro/dirt road adaptation of my XR, curious if anyone running a dirt bike/moto front fender on their XR can point me in the direction of what fender you went with? I know there is some fab work involved, but I'd like to save some time guessing which ones have clearance if anyone feels like sharing what they went with? Thanks in advance-

That actually looks pretty cool to my eyes. Add in a bash plate for the motor and some uprated shocks, replace the belt guards and you could hit the trails. What a versatile model of motorcycle we ride...

I just bought my 2009 XR1200. The guy I bought it from wanted a supermoto look so he mounted a dirt bike fender, among other changes. I don't know what brand it is but I will ask him and I will take some close ups of the mounting. Here are some pics he used in the ad. I don't love all his changes, including the dirt bike fender so I have some work ahead. The most pressing is getting a working brake light, then turn signals and a bigger, brighter taillight. He put a tiny, cheap LED taillight/turn signal in the back but it's too small for safety. He removed and sold the front turn signals, along with everything else he removed. Luckily, I have another bike to ride while I'm getting this road legal. I have ridden in traffic but I don't feel safe.

Well damn! Ask and you shall receive! Thank you!

I would love to see some pics of the mounting for the front fender if you're able. And if you happen to want to sell that exhaust / hand guard or front fender setups I'd probably take them off your hands and could also provide some stock part replacements.

Thanks for sharing, that is super helpful!

ne has an early KTM Supermoto front fender on it. Different forks but at least you know it'll clear the frame.

That sounds good. I don't love the Fender and I was considering removing it but I will take good pics first. The hand guards were missing so I asked and he gave them to me. They're actually pretty nice and more substantial than they appeared in the pics. I wasn't sure how he mounted them but when I went to reposition the mirror from under the bar to over the bar on the opposite side, I found a bolt and nut in the mirror mounting hole so I believe that's what he used. It looks like he fashioned the exhaust from the stock headers and SuperTrapp mufflers, which are tunable. He had a local shop apply what he called a distressed finish to the engine, swingarm, and pipes. They sound good so I don't hate the pipes but I'm not in love with them either. Read my introduction titled, "Another old fart jumps on the XR bandwagon." It explains a little about the problems I'm having from both his changes and the setup of the XR itself. If I can't solve them I may have to sell the bike. But I like it so I don't want to.

althekiller, sorry it took so long to get back with the pics. Until I actually pull off the fender, I won't know if he mounted to an existing hole but I'm betting he did. The local Harley dealership is getting in a stock XR so I can look at it and compare. As I said, I'm not in love with the high fender or the brush guards. I would like a stock fender. So maybe we can do a deal. Let me know. BTW, what you're seeing on the triple trees is the distressed finish he had put on the engine, swing arm, and the triple trees. I'm not in love with that either. Regards.

I am interested to know what you used for the brake pedal and foot pegs
Thanks
Ted
I believe the mx guys that jumped the XR had a similar build to this with a high fender. I can't find the pics of it right now.
