Wow. I did miss the 3rd XR.You missed one as there are actually 3 in the field. Should be interesting but dont think the will keep up with the FTR’s and KTM’s.
Wow. I did miss the 3rd XR.
I talked to Kevin when he was racing his KTM at Barber and his XR was in the shop having a lot of motor work done getting ready for Super Hooligan racing. I hope we get to see an XR up front, but then again, I'd like to see one racing PERIOD!It looks like there may be separate divisions within Super Hooligans bikes, so the XR will still be able to compete in their own division - American Air Cooled V twin.
Also the regs are basically wide open as to what you can do to an air cooled bike (anything not water-cooled is considered air cooled). The cylinders, frame, etc.. can be modified or replaced and no minimum weight.
This means the XRs in Super Hooligans may be far more tricked out than anything we saw in the old XR racing series. It would be interesting to see what these guys have done. I did not see a maximum displacement rule for air-cooled either so maybe there is a 1450 motor out there!
Thanks for that, his FB page is amazing, full of info and some great pictures and videosKevin went down yesterday. He is OK but not sure about the XR. If you go to his FB page, there is a video.
Oh Man! Bummer! Kevin has been flying the XR flag for some time. I kinda helped him out when his V&H poly motor mounts kind of exploded. Member Bossanova was selling some so I bought them and sent them to him so his guy could copy them. If you’re interested in some he may be able to guide you to the treasure. Quite reasonably priced as well. I hope his XR isn’t in too bad of shape. Looks like his air bag did it’s job.Kevin went down yesterday. He is OK but not sure about the XR.
