Would love to hear your thoughts once its installed! I recently pulled my scotty-mod out, and I see benefits on both sides of the fence. Options are good...

I'll get it fitted up this weekend, unfortunately the weather over here in Blighty is bloody awful, so won't be out for a while.

Well I have fitted the famous Scotty mod & got out today for an hour, in my opinion, its transformed the bike, still enormous fun to ride, but so much more relaxed at motorway speeds.
Only downside- my fangled HD accessory gear change indicator no longer works. It appears that it works via the ecu, taking a combination of speed & rpm to display the current gear. Can't have it all I guess!!

Have you rode it around town yet, I rode someone else's that had the Scotty mod and felt it was too high geared for about town and I was always slipping the clutch to keep the speed down?

I'm good with that so far, but then I am used to riding an old HD big twin

Scotty Mod has always worked for me. I also run a +1 tooth transmission pulley. That puts it at exactly the same gearing as a stock 1200 XL Sportster.

I did the same to my XRX. Taller gearing = longer engine lifespan, cooler engine, a little more gas mileage/range and no more searching for the imaginary 6th gear on the highway. What’s not to like?

A lightened front primary stator cover would be interesting.
