New to the site and would love to know more about the american monster xr 1200. Love sport bikes. I am older and wiser and have ridden tons of hds but went to sport touring bikes a few yrs ago and love it. The xr 1200 just might bring me back to hds. Thanks snowman

I have a sport-touring bike (2006 Kaw Concours) also and I think the XR1200 rounds out the set completely.
Cold weather: Kaw - Warm weather: XR
Passenger: Kaw - Solo: XR
Long distance: Kaw - Short: XR
Superhighways: Kaw - backroads: XR

There is a lot of crossover between the 2, but I like to consider the XR my everyday warm weather bike and the Kaw as my touring, cool weather bike.
