Howdy from the Bay Area. I just picked up my first XR. Its a 2011X with 4500m miles. Pretty pumped and lots of plans for this beast. On the search for all the parts I can find to make her how I want her to be. Here are some pics of Day 1.

Welcome. Great start! Your oil cap Isn’t closed all the way. It is a trick at first.

Hey ytman, thanks for the heads up on the oil cap. It clicks down to where it’s at, but is it supposed to be flush?

Here’s bossanova5 wiping oil off his beauty after riding a bit with his cap ajar. It could have been bad but he caught it before disaster.

I’m fortunate, bike made the hour long ride home with the cap like that. Not even a hiccup or a drop of oil spilled.

What are your thoughts/plans for this? It has already had a bar swap performed. Is there a tuner under that left side cover?

@Houseyhousey
I am thinking the same thing about the mileage on the ones for sale. The XR is not your nomal H-D. When I tell poeple what I have, I hear this: "There isn't any place for speakers." I reply with, "It all speaks out the exhaust to me."

Hey Corey, programmer is definitely coming as well as some color changes. Probably changing these bars out sooner than later. I would really like to get on a 17” front rim and some aggressive tires. Need to start dialing in suspension too. I’m coming from a supermoto so I am all about pushing rubber to the far outside of the tread.
Bike is a kick in the pants to ride, never thought a Harley could be this fun to turn in.

Welcome from Melbourne, Australia. I saw that oil cap yesterday and knew it would attract some comments!
Glad you discovered the hidden jewel in the HD range. And you're right, as you mod it just gets better and better. Ummm, in most cases. But in all cases we're happy to help.

Welcome aboard! I recently joined forum. Great bunch of helpful owners. Bike looks great. Nice pipes. H-D quick release windscreen? I have one and don’t mind the breeze above 85. Super fun bike to run hard. Enjoy, be safe
