I was reading about the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve sticking recently, due to the engine breathers being piped back into the engine. I've been having some problems with the tickover an odd time, mostly stalling when I stop at junctions, but occasionally revving high and taking a few seconds or a blip of the throttle to settle. It seems to come alright after a while (possibly when the IAC valve heats up?). Does this sound like the IAC valve to anyone?
What are people's experience of this? Will the gunk clear itself when the valve heats up, or will it need stripped down to clean it properly, and if so, how is this done?
