I'm fairly certain that's why that bike sat 13 yrs. You can't move the bike around without killing yourself off. the center of balance was destroyed.

You should be careful about how high you want those hangers with this crowd. You might come outside to your bike one day greeted by an angry mob who have fixed a noose on top of those ape hangers just waiting to jerk you to Jesus! 😆 And with that said welcome to the forum, can’t wait to see some pictures of your new bike. -Cheers

Yes I did just purchase an XR1200X and no I'm not putting ape hangers on it 😂.
It's currently being held hostage by Haulbikes and on it's way to Los Angeles. I wish I had read their reviews before sending them a check.
I purchased the bike via the Iconic Motorbike Auctions site. These are the pics from their site. I haven't seen it in person.

If anyone has ideas about how to clean up these forks I'd love to hear them.

Do you have the dual Supertrapp Mufflers, or the stock mufflers? Conflicting pictures. Are those the only pictures you have?

On the forks, I hope it is not brake fluid, but when you get it, start with something mild like Simple Green, and see what hapens from there.

The bike is currently sporting the Supertrapp mufflers but I have the stock ones in a box. I'll try Simple Green 👍

I feel your pain. I bought mine from a dealership in Oklahoma. And it took CRST over a month to get it here to Oregon. The forum was along for the ride on that.
