...in my left fork leg.....

So i need to grab some parts verry quick.and study the youtube tutorials...
What kind of fork seals are recommended? OEM good enough? Any others?

I just used some off Ebay, cost £10 last year, put search in for 'fork seal kit harley davidson xr1200'

Well they are still going strong and I fitted them April last year

All Balls part # 56-133-1. Both seals and both dust covers. Ebay and Amazon approx $30 and free shipping. Have always had great success and longevity using their kits, along with BelRay...Amsoil...or Redline fork oil.

Does anyone know if the seal is the same used on the honda cb1000 forks?
I read this on a Brazilian xr forum, and I want to know if this is really it!

I believe you want Showa fork seals in the 43mm size for non x XR forks. And can I suggest replacement fork bushings while you or your tech are in there. Made a noticeable difference when I had the bushings replaced along with the seals.

tool day today. Arrived. May come handy?the long black tool bought just on suspicion that it fits my xr non x forks

I managed to do mine without that black tool as there wasn't a lot of spring pressure on the cap, apparently though I will need one for my ZZR1400 forks if and when I do them.
