According to Phaed there were 3 bikes painted blue.

2 sold international in dark blue denim.

1 in dark blue pearl sold in California.

Anyone ever seen a pitchure much less one of these bikes?

According to Phaeds site there were a couple of custom colored bikes every year but no other info is known about them. That shop has 3 XR1200 and I think an XR1000 as well. My kind of shop!

I like both those colors! Looking at the tank I don't see that orange pin stripe slowly making its way around the tank graphics so that is interesting.

That site translated says that those are in-house paint jobs they perform at a little over a grand US.

The blue and yellow one in Japan are both custom paint jobs.
I think the factory ones were never sold. They were test mules. I was told that the California one was used for emissions testing and then scrapped as many pre production bikes are.

Hopefully they turn up like so many mules do at some later point on an auction block going for big money.

It is just paint. You can have the tank and seat painted in any color.
