I’m new owner of bone stock Orange Pearl unit WITH signed #1 plate. Was watching YouTube vid on this bike when wifey wandered in. “What’s that one?, looks like a nice one.” So she got the story I’m sure many have told about lusting after XLCR1000 in the 70’s and too bad Harley’s are such lard wagons n blah blah blah…..she grabbed me by the face and said “You’re not going to live forever you know, why don’t you JUST GET ONE!” Only because I love her so, and respect her opinions, haha, I found one from original owner 8300 miles and bought it. But I have news for her. I go back in time 30years or so every time I throw a leg over (that would but me in my mid thirties) so who knows? Oilhead

And the hits just keep coming...another great XR enters the fold with another great story. It's so true, what counts is what the main squeeze votes for.

Welcome from another New Englander in Connecticut, having that number plate means you got one of the first 750 XR1200’s sold in the USA, I think there was a letter that went with it.
Nice find… your bike looks great. Anything you want to know about your XR, you can find here, all you have to do is ask.
Regards

Thanks for the good thoughts. Other rides are Meriden era trumpets and old Guzzi. Many bikes over the years wish I had ‘em all. Took a little getting used to the first couple of rides, but comfort level goes up each time. Can’t wait to go on some kind of arranged event with my new brothers.

Roy, where are you in CT? I’m near Indian (can I say that?) Casinos. A ride to the Vanilla Bean for coffee ( in Pomfret) is always nice.

Hey…nice to meet a fellow nutmegger (is that really what we’re called?)
I'm in the Northwest corner of the State, up near Kent, in a small town called Sherman.
lots of leaf peepers out on the roads, so traffic is pretty slow., let me know if you’re ever up my way, I know a few roads.
Regards
Roy
