How much side to side slop do you have? Pushing on the toe part of the shifter towards the derby cover then away from it? I have 1/8 inch. But on the shifter mechanism where the plastic washers are I see about 60,000 of an inch slop. meaning I grab that and pushed it in and out
I installed one for a friend. Horrible slop. I remember doing some fabricating to get it better. He has an accessory derby cover so I needed to get rid of the slop to keep it from hitting the derby cover.
Big elephant stamp for threadlocker usage there. I also used Nyloc nuts in every possible place on mine, after hearing the stories of people's Storz/Mr H type shifters falling apart out in the boonies. Definitely employ whatever washers you need to shim up those joints, you want to minimise side loadings.
