Are these Evotech ones dramatically different than the R&G tail tidy units?

Serious question, I'm not familiar with them, but I saw the name was similar, wondering if the R&G one might be easier to source?

Gents, I am still trying to source a Evo Tech Tail Tidy, even if some one who has one can remove it and replace it, I would be willing to have one copied and machined.

althekiller, to answer your question, yes ..they are very different. Two different ways to accomplish the same task. The R&G unit is still available. Both are subject to the vibrations of the HD motor. Gman had his Evotech crack all the way through the mounts and fall into the rear wheel. My R&G cracked across the license plate mount and would have fallen off if I hadn’t caught it in time.

Hi, thanks for the info! I was curious, and that definitely answered it, I appreciate it. I have the R&G unit on mine currently, guess I better keep an eye on it. Wonder if adding some rubber isolators at the mounting points might help a bit?

At the very least put some lanyards on your license plate. Even the stock plastic mount is subject to breakage.

R&G Tail Tidy

I still like this one best, for looks, but it finally bit the dust. I caught it just in time. The powdercoat was hiding the crack. I was one ride away from losing the plate. I’m just letting everyone know so you can keep an eye on yours. HD used plastic here for a reason. Time for some rubber...
