MadDogXR has organized this for the past years, and was wondering if he will be organizing it again this year? I will be happy to attend, and follow his lead, even if I have to ride to Bakersfield. Just trying to get this event started.

We can’t let the East Coast have more attend their ride than us. The weekend before Memorial Day is when this happens. Request your time off from work now. Start to prep your XR for this now.

Initial plan is as above for Saturday (head south on hwy 1). On Sunday we will head north (we can finalize on Sundays ride, when we meet).

I'm actually selling the XR

Have to thin the heard a bit. You're right it is a long haul from SD but I already made that trip once when I bought the bike...so it would have been a good way to bookend owning it.

Gentlemen and I do use the term loosely..

For those that are around, let's plan on a Friday night dinner at the

LaLa Oceanside Grill - 654 Cannery Row, Monterey, CA 93940
Food is moderately priced and a fine selection of adult beverages.
at 5:30pm (they don't take reservations, but will try and stake out a table for 5).

Saturday's Ride

This will be a casual day one ride and about a 100 mile loop.

We will be heading south down to Big Sur along the scenic HWY 1 across the Bixby Bridge (stop for a group photo) to Nepanthe to enjoy the sights.

Back up to Carmel for lunch at the Crossroads BBQ. Then off to the Talbott Motorcycle Museum for a peak. We will then head to Lover's Point in Pacific Grove.

We can then regroup and decide on Dinner.

Day two - Sunday

This will be a longer day riding (about 200+ miles) heading north on HWY 1 up the coast to either Alice's Restaurant in Woodside or Half Moon Bay. We can finalize this on Saturday.

Keep in mind this is a long holiday weekend. There WILL be traffic - so try and stay calm and relaxed!

I've driven part of Saturday's ride back in 2016. Hwy 1 was fun, esp the Bixby bridge. Stayed in Cambria o/n, fantastic little town. So envious of you guys. Watch out for rubbernecking Australians driving rentals whiteknuckling it with concentration to stay on the correct side of the road...

Just checking the weather - we are in the low 60's for temps this weekend - so bring an extra layer!

Dinner LaLa Grill 5:30. Printing some routes out to distribute.
