I know it this has has been discussed before, but I've only just realised, I have a cat hiding in in there.
I would rather not have it & I can see, it's not too much of a job to cut it out & weld back up.
I'm slightly concerned about how much the little devil will make, at the moment it's about right with those Dash carbon cans. Has any of our wonderful community any experience of this?

Anything can be tuned, with or without the cat converters.

For some markets the collector in the stock headers had a cat, some markets didn’t.

My bike is an Australian model and it does not have a catalytic converter in the collector of the stock exhaust system.

You can find out by using a garden hose or something similar flexible and see if you can gently push it past the collector into the header from the muffler end, if you can you don’t have a cat.

Good advice Hoges, I must try that. Even after 12 yrs of ownership I wasn't aware the Aus models had no cat, so that's good to know. I can say however that my combination of Free Spirits intake, PCV, stock pipes (ceramic coated) and FMF cans sound & run great, always have apart from a tendency to flame out on hard overrun, probably too lean in that phase, but no deal breaker.

Thanks, I probably will get rid of it sometime, I've done loads of small jobs to the bike over the winter. I might stop now hope for some decent weather over here, & actually ride the thing!
