Just got a carbon fiber tank cover and seat pan in from eBay! Started work on painting on them, I'll post updates as I come along with it. Going for black denim with a performance orange stripe, I have to wet sand and do another coat on the tank and then I think I'll be ready to move on to the seat pan.

Bonus dog tax, did a test fit on Bonnie Blue the Beagle, definitely added a few horsepower.

Does the Cover fits snug on the Tank?Replicas often not fit .Dont dry Paint in the Cabin or Oven.
They are fresh and will produce Bubbles.
The tank did fit with a test fit! I'm lucky to have not suffered from any noticeable tank swelling even though my bike is stored outside (in a bike cover, but still exposed to the elements). And the tank was apparently taken from a good mold. I'll have to do a bit more drilling for the little alignment tabs on the filler ring, I'm not sure why it's sold with only four bolt holes. And I definitely won't oven dry them! There's some finish issues present right now because the primer that it was shipped with was a bit too rough. I rough sanded before the first coats shown here but it apparently wasn't quite enough. I started wet sanding the tank with 1000# grit though and it's taken care of the problem it seems! Next color coat should be a proper finish quality.

It might not be visible that it's smoother on the sanded portion, but you can definitely see the mountains and valleys in both photos. Probably should have wet sanded the primer, but oh well! It'll turn out fine.

@ZNQRCH , perhaps you should have bought the gloss finish, it's very good and may have made a better base to start from.
Yeah, I wish that I had now. The primer job wasn't great and it wasn't placed exactly evenly on the back of the tank next to where it butts up against the seat. I couldn't have really known in hindsight I guess but if I could go back I'd just get the gloss finish with no primer.
Haha, your dog doesn't look too amused!
Or at least a dog power or two.
Although Bonnie Blue doesn't look overly impressed with the test fit...

J.
Haha, she wasn't impressed at all. But she also has a little bit of RBF (resting beagle face), so she doesn't look impressed with much.
Gone With the Wind? My wife watches it all the time.
Yeah! She's actually my girlfriend's dog. She's very into Gone With the Wind, she and her great grandmother watched it a lot and she got a tattoo of a quote from the book in memoriam of her after her passing.
