Okay, the boys are on the West Coast this week at Auto Club Speedway. Ben Bostrom is continuing his campaign to sweep the season. Maybe the Buells will make a better day of it....maybe Eslick will understand when the yellow flag is out you can't pass anyone...maybe Shawn Higbee will employ more ingenious pit stop strategies to move up in the standings...who knows. I haven't found any scheduled TV coverage of the race.

And the WERA guys are at Virginia International Raceway...that's going to be fun.....things are picking up!

I think Benny B was only running the D200. I could be wrong? As far as the Superbike class anyone but Mladin would be fine with me:)

How about all the rumors going around about Rog Hayden? Crazy stuff!

Dont like Mat, eh? Why not?
And what are the rumors? Do tell....

Dunno know if he changed his planned after winning the D-200 but they say he's scheduled to race at Auto Club.

From http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=35801

Riders to compete in the AMA Pro American Superbike races at Auto Club Speedway include winner of the AMA Pro American Superbike 2009 season opener- the Daytona 200 Ben Bostrom (No. 2 Yamaha Motor Corp. USA Yamaha R1) and teammate Josh Hayes (No. 4 Yamaha Motor Corp. USA Yamaha R1) who will both contest the full 2009 American Superbike season on Yamaha's latest R1 motorcycle.

Six-time AMA Pro American Superbike race winner at Auto Club Speedway Mat Mladin (No. 7 Rockstar/Makita Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000) is looking for his seventh win. Mladin's teammates at Yoshimura Suzuki include Tommy Hayden (No. 22 Rockstar/Makita Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000) and Blake Young (No. 79 Rockstar/Makita Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000).

Other Suzuki threats come from riders Aaron Yates (No. 23 Jordan Suzuki GSX-R1000) and Geoff May (No. 54 National Guard Jordan Suzuki GSX-R1000) of the Michael Jordan-owned Jordan Suzuki.

The 21 Lap (50mi/80km) AMA Pro American Superbike races are scheduled for Saturday, March 21st at 2:30p.m. (race 1) and Sunday, March 22nd at 4p.m. (race 2).
Oh boy! Matt Mladin where do I start! It really just stems from him being so damn good! I'm sick of seeing him win. He's a huge fish in a tiny pond and should be in WSBK running with Ben Spies and the rest of those guys. Plus he's such a dick head!

The rumors about Roger Hayden go from him failing a drug test to a dispute with Kawaski about the class he's running and the team he is supposed to be racing for, to personal problems (which his camp claims there are none and he's ready to race)! It's all just speculation and interweb rumors right now. No one knows accept the parties involved.

How about poor Neil Hodgson! He got hurt really bad riding his MX bike and will miss the next round for sure! That sucks soo bad because he was looking really good for this season! Poor guy can't catch a break over here!

Hmmm, I've wondered about that even since before Ben got famous. Mat was winning every single race...on both days for cripes sake.
Any idea why he DOESN'T move on?
I don't see anyone there to challenge Mladin this weekend, especially now that Hodgson has crocked himself messing around on his Motocrosser and will miss at least this round and possibly the one after too (much to the delight of fired-rehired Jake Holden).

Hodgson has broken ribs, dislocated shoulder and collapsed lung so won't be running for any buses any time soon.

Mladin must be laughing all the way to bank, and sending heartfelt 'missing you' messages to new WSB sensation Ben Spies :)

It will be interesting to see how Buells come out to play now that Daytona is done and dusted. If previous years are anything to go by they will be few and far between.
Sweet.....

How 'bout Eslick smoking 'em this weekend? He led all 21 laps, took it wire to wire.

From the Auto Club Speedway's website:

"Danny Eslick (No. 9 Bruce Rossmeyer's Daytona Racing/RMR Buell 1125R) who won Saturday’s AMA Pro Daytona SportBike, also took first in Sunday’s event ahead of Jamie Hacking on his No. 88 Monster Energy/Attack Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.

Eslick led all 21 laps, posting a winning time of 33:09:382, just 0.099 seconds in front of Hacking. Jason DiSalvo (No. 40 M4 Suzuki GSX-R600) finished third with a time of 7.999. "

Apparently there were no yellow flags :eek:!

In the biggest non-event of the weekend Matt Mladin took the Superbike event. Surprise!

Rob, you were right...Benny B put up results in the Superbike (5th), didn't run Sportbikes.

Hilarious! :D

Funniest part to me was that DiSalvo *WAS* talking with Eslick during Hacking's interview, so he really didn't have any reason to get upset... And if the M4 Suzuki "had it", then why couldn't it catch the Eslick's Buell and Hacking's Kawasaki?

:D ;) :D ;) :D ;) :D ;) :D

EGGSACLY!! They must've thrown down off the stage. Hacking was burning about something. Unscrew the cap, take a sip, screw the cap on....repeat x 1000.
& Eslick was giggling about something. Had to cover his face at one point.
I hope this isn't what DMG wanted to create- a wwf style soap opera to put asses in the seats!

Disalvo was being such a dick about it but it was Hacking that got fined....he musta pitched a fit after the news conference.

I also notice that several riders were placed on "probation" for missing a prerace autograph session....and that includes Mladin.
