BUB / Storz Exhaust

After much thought and research my pipe of choice is going to be the Storz 2-2. Looking at the results of the Hot Bike exhaust article, it doesn't really lose much, if anything to the other brands in HP and torque. Yes, it a heavier exhaust but still lighter than stock. Its the closest I've found to a real XR-750 sound (a sound I love by the way. lol). I'll be using the H-D SEPST for fuel, this is the fueler I used on my Night Rod with the V&H Comp pipe with great success. Will post before and after pics when done. Maybe a video clip.

Sweet!

Don't the Storz come in black or chrome? What are you thinking on that?

I wish I had gone another direction with my tuner. I have the SE race tuner...but now my dyno guy has moved, I don't dig the new guy...I've changed pipes, the bike is getting older, would like a re-tune....I am up that famous creek and no paddle in sight.....

I really, really, really wish I had gone with something that had Auto Tune....really.....:censored:

There's one for sale in the classifieds. ;)

If you buy it, I can throw in one really sweet 2-1 custom pipe that will have everyone giving you thumbs up when you rumble past them.

Hey ColorMeLucky,

Where exactly in Tejas are you? We are having a ride tomorrow, just East of Dallas. You in or out?

Back to the Bub headers: I know streettracker built a couple sets of flattracker style headers. He isn't using his, and I don't think MadDogXR is using his either. Perhaps you could PM them to see if they'd sell what they've got. Just an idea.

Why wasn't I informed of this ride? Can I get on the 'maybe' list?

Every time I see Streettrackers bike, he has his high pipes on. And mine are going on very soon. My old system finally ate itself up, like I knew it would.

Tell you what: I'm gonna put you on the maybe list. OK?
I thought streettracker was running his Termis again... ???
My guess is that he has his low pipe on right now, but he changes exhaust systems like I change underwear, at least once a month.

Probably going with the black since its a White Hot Denim 1200X, but that could change. lol. Not sure about the Race Tuner, but the newer Pro Super Tuner w/ auto tune is a dream to use. I bought the cables, software and instruction DVD for use on my Night Rod Special. After selling the it I still have this stuff leftover. Since the orange box was no good for anything except that one bike, it went along with it.

Something you may or may not know about the SEPST. I have a dedicated laptop (10" Acer Netbook. 179.00 on sale at Target) that I only use for tuning. Once the H-D software is loaded the computer routinely checks for and downloads new MAPS and other software from H-D for the tuner. Its pretty cool because you don't have to look for them, they come to you. I'm sure there are other good fuelers to be had, I just ended up with H-D and decided to stay. My Night Rod was never dyno tuned, but didn't pop on decell, had no flat spots and pulled hard to 9000 rpm, idled smoothly and ran like a bullet. A dyno would have probably optimized the bike better, but I had no complaints with its performance. It had good street manners, but would still get crazy when needed.

Joe, I'm 50 miles S. of Dallas. Got shopping duties tomorrow, but thanks for the invite.

My High pipes are on the bike (right now), but depending on the rain today, they may come off for some Dyno runs of the 2 into 1 system.
Maddog is just a big old procrastinator who hasn't put his on yet, and I'm not sure about the set that I sent to Leebherron

Maddog, I change my pipes like I do my SOCKS, I will ask you to refrain from talking about my underwear, people might get the wrong idea about you.

As for the BUB's - BUY some good ear plugs!!!!!

I had gone about as far performance wise on the Night Rod as I could go without getting into cam changes and Destroyer parts. It was very fast, but long and low with a 240 rear tire. Wasn't a good ride for the twisties. My ADD eventually brought me to the XR. Always loved Evel Knievel and the XR-750, never cared for baggers so here I am. lol. My bike (and my other 5 ) came from H-D Waco.

Sweet MadDog!

I take back all of those remarks about you being a procrastinator....................................nah, I just made that up. Looks great!
I'm hoping to have it done by Spring.

Hope you stop procrastinating now. Looks like your brake reservoir isn't quite fastened in place just right. Keep going! Looks very nice, though! Just, not complete.
The reservoir is finalized now. Just not bolted up. I still need to decide if I want to swiss cheese the pulley cover and cam cover. And how I am going to do it. Then I need to weld the SuperTrapps into the ends of the pipes.

Oh, and don't forget to add your name to the list on the Popped Tank thread.
...where ever it is.
HHAHAHAHHAHAHHA, that's funny Joe.
