I feel that the membership is going through sort of a transition phase. I think the old guard is standing down and the new guys are trying to figure out which way they want to go with their XRs. I’d hold on to them until one of the new kids, who can’t afford long shocks, comes to the realization the bike handles better with the rear lifted. Two cents.

Not sure the "old guard" is standing down. I'm sure I'm one of the oldest on here. Hehe. My XR is outfitted with 2" longer rear shocks, and yes, as ytman (who is an old guard, well maybe just old) says, raising the rear improves the handling immensely. I would think that someone on here will scoop those risers up. Boyz, if you've never raised up a rear end, you don't know what you are missing!

    Expensive but highly recommended!
My 2009 has the XR-X shocks with the Sato risers on the lowest setting - handles great and still lets you use the sidestand without over-lean
