I think we all get the “Team Freight Train” award but you know Maddog and XRRunner can put a whooping on some Bako back roads!

This story begins as we just crossed the Tulare County line heading to the Ponderosa Lodge. We saw a deputy in a pickup on a side road. MaddogXR was setting the pace up the windy two lane road. He didn’t notice the deputy had pulled out and started following us. Well as anyone of us would do we started passing cars over the double yellow line. Our #4 saw the deputy and fell back trying to run interference but the deputy starting using his lights to move cars over. On a straight away near our destination we decided to stop and wait for our #4 as we noticed a white truck catching up to us PDQ. As soon as we stopped the lights came on. It was our deputy who didn’t look too happy. I explained to him what he saw were cars voluntarily pulling aside and allowing us to pass. The deputy questioned the validity of that but in the end he just told us to be careful. And we carefully looked for him the rest of the way at our brisk pace. 🙂

Possibly! Those were some good rides but for me it depends on Uber MaddogXR.

Ah yes, I recall that road up to the Ponderosa. I think it was Hwy 190. When I did it with you guys we were headed north from the L. Isabella area, then downhill to Springville, etc. The whole dam dragon. LOL!

2 orange, 2 black, a few hundred km and no tickets. Sounds like a good day out to me.

Shack, you would’ve loved it. Maddog and XRRunner knew the roads and we were, for me, shredding. It’s Tuesday and my thighs are still sore from transitioning from left to right to left to right. I ran in 3rd position the whole time. Merlin was behind me, first time on an XR, and he looked a little cramped. In my mirror I saw him taking his feet off to flex his ,non replaced, knee now and then. He’s the cat in the blue jacket.

I'm so envious I'm getting hives.

Seriously, I fantasize about shipping mine over, hiring a campervan and spending a few months touring the US, riding the XR through some of these amazing places and catching up with as many of you guys as possible.

Oh well, dreaming is cheap. It's a tantalising idea, though. I wonder....

No awards. Just a friendly roadside chat.

Is Colorado going to be a happening? Last I saw just a couple of the Colorado guys were thinking about a little get-together.

If it is going to be over-the-top, you know So. Cal. will be there.
