    Default Oil cooler relocation...

    Gents,

I‘m planning to relocate my oil cooler - quite in the same way they all did it with the race kits. Here in Europe unfortunately there are no such complete kits available which leaves me with the task to gather the respective goodies all by myself.

In order to start the project - I would need to know - what type and dimension of thread we have at the motor where the oil cooler hoses are connected.

Can please someone tell me here the respective dimensions. Your kind help is very much appreciated.

    Roger

This thread may help some, also try typing " cooler relocation" in the search box, something useful might turn up, unfortunately, Photobucket has blurred most all of the pictures making them useless.

Starbuck just take them out, very quick and easy if you need the thread pitch & dia for mods. Take them into the shop to compare so you are certain, at least that is what Id do.
Pick up some loctite thread sealant and clean threads where its applied. Can use Loctite thread cleaner to squirt or similar before reassembly instead of tape.
I am shifting a different cooler to a location in modified tail with fan that comes on at selected temp.

Does the benefit of the oil cooler outweigh the aggravation?

It sure does look out of place

Thinking of doing this in the long term to mine, but has anyone noticed if it effects the airflow and hence cooling to the cylinder heads

I have had this modification for a few years and a few thousand miles. I have a temp gauge on my oil tank cap and have not experienced any change in engine oil temp. Also the longer hose may help a little too.
