Count me out of this side trip!

I will have an XR1200 drive belt wrapped around me like a Bandito bandoleer, you know, just in case someone needs a belt.

Time and place folks, start hashing it out. Personally I am good with the same place but I could care less if it was in tents on top of Pikes Peak so,,,

Roy, if you would, please fix that picture for me.

Hey Sadwingsragn, unless someone has better date, make it 8/20/20-8/23/20. Roughly same weekend as last time.

It's a long way off, but it sounds good to me. I'd be happy going back to the Canon City KOA; it's a great location to ride from. (And, you can get a cabin with a sink and toilet...)

I’m going to stand by my recommendation to base it out of Gunnison KOA for 2020.

That works for me, as well. A little bit closer to Hwy 92 (?) that runs along the black canyon of the Gunnison. One of the prettiest roads in CO. It's hard to find a bad place to ride in Colorado, once you get past I25.

They have cabins. At least one has a bathroom and shower. In the others I guess it's just the old gallon water jug...

So this thread is consistent with the other thread, the new date is:

    8/27/20 - 8/30/20

I suppose it’s time to get some things in order if we are going to pull this together.

First order of business is setting the thread where we are going to discuss this along the way. I originally started the ‘Revisit Colorado’ thread under ‘Events’ thinking that is where it should go.Thomas later created this one which is fine except it’s a little hard to find since it seems to be created as a response under a subcategory of the 2016 meet up forum. Whichever one we select (or a new one entirely) is fine, I just think it would be great if we had it easier to find like the 2016 one was when it was originally posted. For now I am just going to follow-up on Seamus’s recent update here and suggest a 2020 call out banner similar to the 2016 one be added to the front page. Either to this one, or an entirely new one. Any admin input/assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please..

Next order of business is to make a call on setting a location. Canon City KOA was pretty sweet and fairly close to the Front Range but there is a fair amount mileage that needs to be covered daily in order to get to the destinations and rides that I believe are iconic and why you travel the distance to be here. Pikes Peak is fairly close if that’s a priority but that has it’s own set of logistical considerations. Gunnison is little further off the beaten path to get to but I believe it offers better access to great mountain rides and attractions, on more sparsely populated roads, one we get settled in there. (See examples outlined in the Revisit Colorado thread for more info..)

Not sure the best way to handle setting a location but perhaps if an entirely new thread is set up with a poll, we could utilize for voting. Otherwise I suppose its just a matter of logging you preference here and we tally the votes manually.

I am open to discuss the set-up of organization of this further if anyone wants to reach out via PM. Gunny KOA is closed until May so it is going to be a bit of a crap shoot inquiring about group rates and other considerations until then. I will be a attempting to do so though and will post and response I get from them.

I am a definite maybe! Those dates are actually pretty good for me, and Gunnison is fine as a location. I skipped the ride to Gunnison last time, and had to hear all about the best motorcycle road EVER for the rest of the trip from those who went, so yeah, that sounds good!

Good lord, dude, I can't imagine how you kept things organized as well as you did! The term "herding cats" was used at the time, and afterward. No, no...I chose to jam out on that ride; totally on me lol.
