I'm digging the lid Eric. No complaints so far. Ventilation is outstanding too.

Thinking about this puppy but I HATE to put that much money down on something I haven't squeezed my noggin into to check the fit and feel of it first.

    First modular by Shoei.
You see in this world there are two kinds of people my friend.
Those with loaded guns, and those who dig.

    I love Geno's Arai.

Thomas, Shoei's are fantastic helmets but their internal shape is a little different. I would definitely run by a Cycle Gear or bike dealer and try 'em on.

I don't know if you are near a Cycle Gear but my local store will match most internet retail pricing (except Amazon ) and they carry Shoei and Arai.

I'm glad this thread popped back up. Looking at Geno's face shield the light went on. I have an Arai RXQ, I wonder if that face shield fits... YES! I've been wearing my dual sport helmet, because I love the the visor. The eyes are not that good for the close up work anymore and polarized sunglasses don't work well behind a face shield. This should work just fine.

I must admit I'm a little biased on this topic

Sweet. And that is a wild-azz paint job on the helmet!

I found that even though the shade doesn't completely cover to the bottom of the shield, it does provide ample coverage. Sort of like a good pair of sunglasses. I also like ease of going from clear to shaded without having to swap visors. Interested to hear your thoughts after you've ridden with it.

I only have a short ride in the new visor.
    * I would like a darker tint.
    * No real issue with light leak from the top.
    * I would like the bottom of the tinted screen to be 10 to 15mm lower. Cracking the main shield lets in even more light. If I had lean forward low bars, this would not be any issue.
    * Flipping the face shield up at a stop sign gives a flood of sunshine. That makes me want to blink.
    * Flipping up the face shield while riding offers no eye protection, compared polycarbonate sunglasses.
    * No ear pinch from the sunglasses arms.

I need to put more miles on it to become more familiar with it.

Here is some more of the wild paint:
